ワンワールド・ウィズ・ワラーチ・プロジェクト
1995年1月17日阪神淡路大震災発生。
私はその年、三人の幼い子供たちを連れて、新たな住処となる河口湖の地にやってきて、 家造りに忙殺されていました。そして生まれ故郷に近い神戸の震災を知りながら、なにも できない無力感を感じていました。
2011年3月11日東日本大震災発生。
今度こそ、私はなんらかの形で支援をしたいと考えていました。が、それと同時に、この 震災の復興には長い年月がかかると感じていました。 「継続可能な支援を続けるのにはどうすればいいのか?」
そんな時、片山敬済氏より声が掛かりました。 「神戸から東北までバトンを繋いで、一緒に日本を元気づけないか」と。 片山氏はかつてはWGP(ロードレース世界選手権)で世界の頂点に立った伝説のライ ダー。その片山氏が「BERT」を設立し、その一環として被災地を勇気づけるために、バ トンを全国に繋げるというプロジェクト「OneWorld」を立ち上げました。
From Kawaguchiko to Kobe with Huaraches
自家製サンダル「ワラーチ」を履いて神戸までの500キロを走りぬく

BERT(Bikers Emergency Responce Team)
機動性に優れたオートバイを活用して、災害の際にレスキュー、情報伝達、物資補給など を行う「バイクレスキュー隊」のこと。 2011年 1977年WPG世界チャンピオン、片山敬済氏の呼びかけによって設立された。

500km Charity Marathon to Kobe, with hand-made sandals "Huaraches"
17 January 1995, the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake (a.k.a. Kobe Earthquake) occurred.
I had just moved to Lake Kawaguchiko with my three little children and was just swamped with building my house. Watching the news about the disaster and I was filled with the feeling of helplessness for my inability to do nothing to help Kobe where is very close to my home town.
11 March 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake (a.k.a. Tohoku Earthquake) occurred.
I wanted to do something to support this time. However, I also knew that the reconstruction from this earthquake would take a very, very long time. I asked myself "What should I do to support, to provide a kind of support that is continuous and lasts foｒ unlimited period of time?"
That's when Takazumi Katayama reached out to me.
"Would you like to support and cheer Japan up by passing a baton from Kobe to Tohoku?"
Takazumi is legendary motor-cycle rider, a former champion of WPG(World Grand Prix). He started BERT (Biker's Emergency Response Team), a nonprofit organization, and the baton relay named "One World" as a project of the organization - a project to pass a baton all over Japan to encourage the devastated areas of the earthquake.

◆ゴール場所：神戸市役所南側、東遊園地内「慰霊と復興のモニュメント1.17希望の灯り」
◆ゴール予定時刻：13〜14時
被災地支援の活動を風化させない継続可能なあり方を多くの人に一緒に考え、行動してもらう為、自宅のある河口湖から500キロ離れた神戸まで、ただひたすらにワラーチを履いて走り続けた18日間。いよいよ明日、応援してくださった皆さんの想いと共に、バトンと支援金、そして神戸まで走り切った「ワラーチ」をBERT片山敬済氏へ 渡します。ゴールで東吉さんを迎えられる方は、どうぞ東遊園地内「慰霊と復興のモニュメント1.17希望の灯り」へお集まりください！
